NETTA

NETTA

Netta, a vibrant 5-year-old, is a true artist of the imagination. Enamored by circles and colors, she wields her pencil and marker with creative zeal, covering the page in a symphony of circles. In a surprising twist, she deems it "too perfect" and, when prompted, embarks on a journey to disrupt the perfection deliberately. Scribbling lines, adding colors, and creating intricate patterns, Netta's canvas transforms into a chaotic masterpiece. As she explains each line, attributing emotions like anger and sadness, she reveals a hidden rainbow, unseen by adult eyes. Her artistic process mirrors the purity of a child's mind, where emotions are unfiltered and declarations are genuine. The child's world, free from ego, unveils a profound honesty—what they say, they mean; what they feel, they show. In Netta's creative escapade, we witness the uninhibited expression of emotions, an authentic exploration only a child's mind can offer. Netta's work serves as a reminder that the emotions explored in the realm of childhood are universal, touching the core of human experience. Through her lens, we are reminded of the simplicity and sincerity that often get obscured in the complexities of adulthood. In creating art that speaks to both worlds, Netta inadvertently becomes a bridge between the innocence of youth and the nuanced understanding of grown-ups, fostering a shared appreciation for the beauty found in the purest expressions of emotion.

BALAGAN

BALAGAN

My work on Balagan is a recognition of this ambivalence towards the Web 3 era. On the one hand, we are able through coding on blockchains to produce innovative new art forms: distributed, collected, and enjoyed by ever more-connected global communities. On the other, this hyper-connectivity takes its toll on our consciousness; never gives us pause to collect our thoughts, to resonate with cherished memories. Balagan is my response to this: a generative series in which the ‘mess’ of significance is encouraged to break out onto the blockchain, each artwork a unique set of colorful, symbolic references. Its grid is a digital incarnation of every checkered notebook I had at school which I filled with drawings of rainbows and floral patterns. A harkening back to those classroom daydreams in small squares and perfect diagonal lines, etched onto the afternoon like patterns on a brick game LCD. It is an attempt to create the scaffolding with which these cargoes of symbolic memories can surface. Sometimes they appear to tremble and rotate, struggling against their framework. At others, they rise and fall almost like waves with a liberating sense of chaos.

EARLY WORKS

Exploring the intersection of creativity and code, my early works were a playful dive into generative art, fueled by curiosity and the joy of experimentation.
